How can color set the tone for a new transit-oriented development?

Avalon Ocean Avenue is the first piece of a planned transit-oriented district around Balboa BART station. Located near City College on a busy commercial thoroughfare, the two mid-rise buildings include 173 apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom units, and a Whole Foods. Colors draw on those in the surrounding neighborhood to weave the complex into its context and help create a vibrant pedestrian experience.
